Things to ask before hiring luxury portable toilets

How many luxury portable toilets do you have?

Few companies specialise in luxury toilet hire so, if they have them at all, they may have as few as three luxury toilet units available in total. Its always worth asking how many luxury portable toilets they have in their own depot as lack of stock can lead to several service problems including:

1. Getting the service you actually ordered - some companies downgrade you to a basic unit at the last minute as they have hired your luxury portable toilets to someone else.

What sort of backup do I get?

Once the toilet you have hired is in place, you are going to need peace of mind that it won't fail you. There is nothing worse than the event being remembered for the poor amenities:

1. Your luxury toilet goes wrong - this is usually a result of old (sometimes secondhand) units, poor servicing at the depot or rushed set up on site.
   
   Our Answer - All our units are built to our specification, they are less than 3 years old, refurbished yearly and serviced after each event so they very rarely go wrong. If they do, we will come and fix the problem or replace the unit quickly.
2. No-one to talk to about technical questions
   
   Our Answer - We are always on the other end of a telephone and are pleased to answer your questions. Our reputation precedes us and we have over 70% repeat business over the last 17 years from small venues to royal appointment. How long has the company been in business?

Many startup companies think this is an easy job. Most of the established and well known companies in the portable hire sector shy away from luxury portable toilet hire and stick to what they know best, the basic unit hire (commonly the plastic ones more suited to construction sites) and there is a good reason for it - luxury portable toilet hire is a very specialised job with many pitfalls for the inexperienced, most commonly - low quality units which are poorly maintained and no-one to speak to when something goes wrong.

The company is not there - the worst that can happen is that, having been well prepared with your event organisation, you hire your portable toilets nice and early and the company you have used takes your deposit. Are there any hidden charges?

Generally all companies charge for delivery as this is something that can't be included in the price. However, many companies have hidden charges based on what they perceive to be value added extras such as wall to wall carpets, air fresheners, background music or requirements that you should already have in place such as public liability insurance.

We offer all these as standard, no extra cost. All our luxury portable toilets are insured for £2m public liability when we deliver them to you. There are no hidden charges.

What do I need to provide you for your service to work?

Some luxury units cannot operate without electricity, water supplies and drainage which limits their placement and can leave unsightly wires or pipes.

All our luxury portable toilets have built in water supplies and internal drainage tanks, all we need from you is an electricity point. If you don't have anything suitable in the position you want, we can even hire you a suitable generator.

Is there anything else I need to know?

There are laws governing the use and provision of toilet amenities at any event, no matter how small. If you have an event where the public are to attend, then you must provide a certain number of amenities dependent on how many people you expect to attend. If you have a private event then you may still need insurance for public liability depending on your venue.

You may also wish to consider hiring an attendant for the duration of your event. The attendant should fully trained and able to maintain the units supplied as well as check the cleanliness of the units at regular intervals. We can provide an attendant, please ask for more details.
